Liberator Sh Special Grain Sherry 500ml

The Grain Project Trilogy was conceived in 2022 as an experiment in flavour. 6 casks of 2015 Single Grain Whiskey were married together for 6 months before being filled into 4 different cask types for finishing to showcase the effect of the different casks on the same Whiskey.

We’ve now launched Edition 1.1, a Cream Sherry cask from the same bodega that supplied the stunning Moscatel Sherry cask finishes that we produced last year. There’s not many Cream Sherry releases – Redbreast 18 being the only obvious example I can think of. The Sherry is a blend of Oloroso and, in this case, Moscatel (more usually PX). The freshly disgorged cask was finished for 20 months before being transferred back into an ex bourbon cask. The cask imparts rich floral, honey, dried fruit & hazelnut notes to the buttery sweetness of the Grain.

Bottled at a Blender’s Cut of 57.1% abv.

Edition 1.2 is the product of a 19 month finish in a fresh Ruby Port cask. One of the building blocks of our Liberator Double Port, the cask imparts rich and powerful notes of ripe red berries and cherries, complementing the full creamy undertones of the Grain. Bottled at 59% abv, a few drops of water open up floral and less sweet notes.

Both are available in our 500ml Storehouse Special format and Edition 1 is limited to 400 numbered bottles, of which 120 are reserved for Ireland.
