A cask-strength edition of Redbreast 12 Year Old, this is batch B1/23 of the beloved single pot still Irish whiskey. Triple distilled in copper pot stills from a combination of malted and unmalted barley, the whiskey matured in a combo of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak oloroso sherry butts before being bottled at a robust cask strength of 57.2%, amping up all that classic, rich, rounded Redbreast character.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Juicy notes of fruit salad lead to sweet, dried stone fruits, with peaches and plump sultanas backed by a touch of candied orange and oaken spice.
Palate Silky mouthfeel, with layers of stewed, spiced fruits, vanilla cream, and mellow oak.
Finish Warm oak builds, with baking spices, sherried fruit, and robust barley.
